A PRAYER FOR THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Margaret Nelson, chair of the Liturgy Committee, has written a beautiful prayer for the Saint John the Baptist Capital Campaign.  We will be praying this prayer together in common following the intercessions for the next month or so.  We encourage everyone to say this prayer daily for the success of our handiwork.  The prayer follows below:

Holy God,
as we enter into our capital campaign, we bring our
needs before you.  Grant our members generous hearts.
Help each one of us to discern what we are able to give
according to the gifts you have given us.
Help us to honor our commitments to the best of our abilities.

We bring our
hopes before you.
Grant that through working together on this building project
our community may grow in the understanding of what it means to be your people, the body of Christ.

We bring our
desires before you.
Grant that we may realize the beauty, majesty, and convenience of new and improved facilities
which are intended for your honor and glory alone,
a tribute to your own love for us.

Bless our efforts in the name of Jesus in unity with the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE
During the month of November, there will be a book of remembrance near the baptismal font.  Please feel free to write all the names of your beloved dead in this book.  "We have loved them in life, let us not forget them in death."

THANK YOU, ST. JOHN'S COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN!
Thanks to the generosity of the women of our Council, the original statue of Our Lady from our first parish church is being repaired and repainted.  A new pedestal with built-in votive candles will complete the gift to the parish.  We hope to have the installation completed by the new year.  May our Blessed Mother remember all your needs before the throne of the living God.

ALL SOUL'S DAY REMEMBRANCE
A special thank you to Shelly Boyce for her beautiful calligraphy on the memorial plaques in the Sanctuary this past weekend.  Thanks also to the Art & Environment committee for their time and effort in creating the display in memory of those buried from St. John's during this past year.

NEW SERVER ALBS
For the last six months, Carol Shaughnessy and Eileen Scott have been laying the groundwork for our new server albs.  They, along with sewers Dolores Witzmann, Katie Hawkins, Betty Lou Elfert and Georgianna Myers have done an outstanding job of creating these new vestments.  Some think that our servers are looking rather Angelic.  Wings anyone?  Many thanks!!!!

The New Brighton Lions Club is still collecting used glasses and hearing aids for distribution to people who cannot afford them, both in the United States and other countries.  There is a box on the table in the narthex for you to put those you have been saving.  Thank you very sincerely for all your past donations -- the parishioners of St. John's have been very generous.
