BAPTISM SEMINAR
Anyone who would like their child baptized at St. John's must attend our Baptism Seminar. The next seminar will be held on December 6 from 7:00-8:30pm in the parish center. Pre-registration is required by calling the Parish Office @ 651-633-8333.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

SEEKERS: Adult Theological Book Club
We have a nice group of interesting people going now and you'll always be welcomed. We are seeking a knowledge of God deep in our hearts. We stretch and open our minds and share our faith. We try to read a book a month, but you're welcome to join us for discussion even if you don't find time to read. We meet the 2nd Thursday of each month, 7:00-8:30pm. Parish Center, Francis Room (or wherever we get moved to!) BOOK TO READ FOR DECEMBER 9: Amazing Grace by Kathleen Norris, Riverhead Books, New York.

Circle of Women&
Circle of Women invites ALL women of ALL ages to our Christmas brunch this Thursday, December 9 (9:15--11:30am) in the lower level of the parish center. Come and hear Nancy and Ben Payton share their faith story. Many of you may have heard about their tragic story in the media several years ago. Nancy will share of her son's paralyzing accident and how their family's faith led to a remarkable recovery. Childcare is available. Call Mary @ 612-783-1961 to register your child.
HELP WANTED
The Circle of Women is looking for several childcare workers to help in the nursery on Thursday mornings from 9:15--11:45am. This is a paid position ($20.00 per morning). Commitment could be every Thursday morning or work on a rotating schedule.
There are two other childcare workers working in the nursery and a morning curriculum is provided. Please contact Lisa Sjobeck @ 651-490-9158 if interested.

SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE
If you were inspired by the presentation of St. Patricia McCarthy at our Parish Mission and would like to explore how to practice what she taught about peace and justice, you are a great candidate for the parish Social Justice Committee. Our next meeting is Monday, December 6, 7:00pm in the Parish Center. All are welcome! If you cannot make this meeting but would like to be involved, please call Joe Kenney, 651-633-8333.
CHRISTMAS FOOD ASSISTANCE
In the past we have provided food baskets for members of our community who have difficulty providing a complete Christmas meal. Last year we changed to providing food coupons to local stores so that families could choose their own menu consistent with their own traditions. Again this year we will provide food coupons to anyone in need of help for Christmas.
If you, or a family you know, are in need of this help, please call Judy at the parish office, 651-633-8333 between the hours of 9:00am--12:00 noon, Monday through Friday only. If you are requesting a certificate for someone else, please ask their permission before calling. All requests are confidential. Deadline for requests in Monday, December 20. Certificates may be picked up on Tuesday, December 21.
