Social Justice...
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
The Thanksgiving Day collection is a funding source for the St. John the Baptist Conference of the Society of St.  Vincent de Paul Society.  Please help as much as you are able.  If you won't be at Mass on Thanksgiving Day, please mail or drop off your contribution either at the Parish Office or in the regular collection--Please mark SVDP on your envelope or check.
Our mission is to assist people of all faiths and backgrounds seeking help that goes beyond the local food shelf, including assistance with heating bills, rent deposits,   clothing, diapers, and other needs.
In addition, we offer referrals to and information about  services that are available through various government and social service agencies.

SERVING THE POOR IN OUR MIDST
The St. Vincent de Paul Committee thanks to all who responded to our clothing drive on Oct. 28.  Your donations filled one panel truck.  About 40 coats, snowsuits & jackets are being given to members of our immediate neighborhood.
"I WAS HOMELESS... "
This past week St. Vincent de Paul was able to arrange shelter at a motel for 1 week for a mother and her 3 children until a more permanent solution can be found.  A special thank you to the Circle of Women as was as a couple of others with compassionate hearts.
