From the Pastor... * The only thing God wants from you is you! * Giving in a Church is never a money problem; it's a heart problem. * Insurance carries you to the grave. Assurance carries you through eternity.
Some things to think about this week Do you have a consistent, daily quiet time with God? _____Yes _____ No Is it in the a.m. or p.m.? What is your biggest stumbling block to maintaining a daily quiet time? _____ I wait too late, until the end of the day to begin. _____ I don't see the need _____ I fail to prioritize my time efficiently _____ I don't like repetition _____ I'm too busy for God _____ Other Do you read Sacred Scripture? Do you read spiritual books/articles? Psalm 42:1-2 describes a thirst for God. Have you ever had a longing to know God, like a thirsty person longs for a drink of water? Are you satisfied with the quality of your daily quiet time spent with God and/or God's word? Do you ever turn off the television an hour earlier at night to have quiet time with your God? Do you believe God hears your prayers? Do you think God hears but doesn't care? Do you believe God hears and cares but is powerless to answer? What is one thing you want to thank God for? Do you share your spiritual life with your family? What is your favorite hymn? What is your favorite bible passage? Do you pray for family members who have left the Church or do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ? Do you have a friend that you pray with? What are your current priorities in life? Physical exercise? Healthy eating? a regular "date night" with your partner? Do you contribute what you can to work of the Church? _____ Yes _____ No Are you waiting until you are financially secure? What do you think God expects you to do in the area of your finances? Really do? Do you ever say no to others if you need to spend time with God? What kind of measuring stick do you use to distinguish essential versus nonessential activities in life? What is your purpose in life? Are you clear as to why God keeps you on earth? Do you belong to the Church to get back or to give? Do you believe that God has gifted you in a special way? Have you ever had to give until it really hurt? Does money make you less dependent on God? Does your family need more money or more of you? Do you think, "Well, done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:21) applies to you? the life you are now living?
