MLK CONVOCATION Mark you calendar for Saturday morning, January 15 for the ISAIAH MLK Convocation at St. Alphonses Church, Brooklyn Center. This is an excellent opportunity to join in prayer, music, and celebration of the life of Dr. King and also be part of the "birthing" of a new metro-wide church-based organization committed to bringing about social change consistent with our Gospel values. Come and be part of an historic event. For more details, call Deacon Joe Kenney, (651) 633-8333.
COATS--COATS--COATS The Social Concerns Network, of which St. John's is a member, will again be collecting gently-used coats, mittens, and new hats. These will be combined with collections from several other local churches and given away to those in need on Saturday, January 15, at the Mounds View Community Center. Collecting at St. John's will take place at all masses on the weekends of January 1/2 and January 8/9. We had great participation at St. John's last year. Please help again by donating your surplus winter clothing. Children's items are especially needed. If you have any questions about this event, call Carole Beggs @ 651-639-9103.

Prayer Vigil& FIRST FRIDAY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION "Jesus has made Himself the Bread of Life to give us life. Night and day He is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist; come back to that adoration" (Mother Teresa). Our First Friday adoration will take place from 9:00am Thursday until 8:00am Friday in the first-floor Parish Center chapel. You are invited to sign up on the boards at the church doors so that we may be sure that Our Lord always has adorers during the vigil. VIGIL COMMITTEE TO MEET JANUARY 10 The St. John's Vigil Committee will hold a short meeting Monday, January 10, at 7:00pm in the Parish Center. We will discuss possible changes in our vigil schedule.
