"Is not my word like fire, says the Lord, like a hammer shattering rocks?"
                Jeremiah 23:29

The Book of Jeremiah combines history, biography &     prophecy.  It portrays a nation in crisis and introduces the reader to an extraordinary leader upon whom the Lord place the heavy burden of the prophetic office.

Teen Brain Develops Rapidly
Children's brains change dramatically through puberty, a study by American and Canadian scientist suggests.  Even in the midteen years, the amount of gray matter in some very active areas can be double and neurons can interconnect rapidly while unneeded cells in other areas are flushed out.
"The teenage years are a kind of critical time to optimize the brain," a researcher noted.  "If a person is doing sports or academics or music, those abilities will be hardwired.." (AP News Service, March 19).

PAPER PRODUCTS FOR FOOD SHELF
Take a look at your grocery register receipts.  Notice how many non-grocery items you purchase at the grocery store.  The same needs exist for people without sufficient funds to buy enough groceries for their family.  They need those non-grocery items for their day-to-day needs too.  We could use some paper products for our food shelf,  i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex and diapers.  If you're a few bucks ahead of a payday, add some paper product to your grocery list for someone less fortunate and drop it off at the food collection boxes at the entrances to the church.  You'll make some family's day.  And, thanks for thinking of them!
