WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A BEFRIENDER?
"It means I know how to use the prayer tools to help people in their life's journey.  By so doing I am learning to help myself in my own journey, which is what we are all striving for!"  Ginny Petro, Befriender
If you are interested in finding out about our Befriender Program, please call Judy Quayle @651-633-8333.  Training begins September 6, 2000.  Application deadline:  Aug. 21.

Get Involved!
Fall Fest

  • Craft Table and Bake Sale  We are hoping that folks are willing to donate the fruits of labor in the areas of gift and holiday items, plants and baked goods.  They are also looking for a couple of people to help set-up the area and handle the sales.  Call the Parish Center at 651/633-8333 for more information.

  • Adult Games  The games and volunteers are for the most part ready to go, just needing a chair to coordinate activities.  The chairs from years past are available to answer your questions and help you along the way.

  • Food Vendors  Do you own a restaurant or         catering business?  Would you like to run a food booth at the St. John's Fall Fest?  We are looking for food vendors to work both Saturday (9/16) and     Sunday (9/17).  Booth fee is nominal ($75).

  • Security  We need folks to help with security       Saturday night and Sunday.

Fall Fest Gala
We will again feature a silent auction of themed baskets, that thanks to your participation, was such a great success last year!  If you would like to participate, please think of a basket or item that you would like to represent yourself or your business, put it together and donate it to the Gala.  Some ideas for basket themes include: holiday, seasonal, foods, sports, hobbies, bath - the list is endless!
Baskets or items can be turned into the Parish Center after Friday, September 1.  If you have any questions, please call the Gala Basket Committee: Sandy Leon
(763/780-3479) or
Lisa Nesser (651/636-4010).

MONTHLY EUCHARISTIC ADORATION--AUG. 3
"Come and spend some time with Jesus, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.  Adore Him, thank Him, ask for His help in your needs and the needs of others.  Tell Him you love Him and wish to make reparation for those who do not love him.  Spend a little quiet time and listen to Him."
Adoration from 9am--9pm in the chapel.  The southwest door of church will be open during vigil hours.  Sign up on board at church entrances so that Our Lord may not be unattended during the vigil.

Call the Parish Center (651/633-8333) to volunteer or for more information.
