The Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is offering for the sixth year, a liturgy service for the Naming of Children and the Commending of those children who have died before birth.  Please join other families in this meaningful service on Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m.--for more information call 651-777-6041.

On Friday, November 2, All Souls Day, St. John's will remember and honor your family member who has died.  Please join with other families as we pray together for one another and for family members who have found their place at the table of the eternal banquet in heaven.  Masses will be at 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Hospitality will follow.

Thanks to the generous people of St. John's who donated baby clothing, blankets, diapers and other necessary baby items for the Baby Bush and to the Quilters who donated many beautiful large and small quilts.
All items were delivered to the North Side Life Care   Center and Birthright of St. Paul and are very much       appreciated.       The Respect Life Committee

School News&

  The School Principal's Advisory Committee held their first meeting of the school year.  Members previously attended a training session.  Sr. Gwendolin reported a good beginning in the school year, with students working hard and happy.  Volunteers have started working on projects such as school pictures,  vision screening, Santa's Secret Shop, helping in the classrooms and moving to new facilities in the Pastoral Center.  SPAC members formed committees for Finance, Marketing and Policies.  The Finance Committee will propose 2001-2002 tuition rates at the November SPAC meeting.  Special thanks to the Hanton's, the Marathon committee, students and all who contributed to this year's successful marathon.  The School Principal's Advisory Committee is an advisory board.  Its primary responsibility is to advise the principal on policy matters.  Parents with questions or concerns about the day-to-day operations of the school are asked to call Sr. Gwendolin at 651-633-1522.

Faith Formation&
CELEBRATE THE WORD

SEEKERS:  Adult Theological Book Club
We are seeking to form an adult faith.  We read a wide  0variety of books, and raise a variety of questions.  You are always welcome to join us, we ask only that you read the book.  The book for October is the novel Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross, Ballantine Books, New York.  We will meet Thursday, October 25, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the     St. John Pastoral Center, St. Vincent de Paul Room.  Explore your faith, expand your vision.  Questions?  Call Mary Ann Zervas at 651-633-1540.

FAITH FORMATION COMMITTEE
Minutes of the Faith Formation Committee (FFC) meeting on September 20, 2001:

  1. Discussed vacant seat on the FFC and possible candidates.
  2. FFC Mission Goal reviewed.
  3. Mary Ann Zervas reported the goals for the Faith   Formation Staff in the upcoming year.
  4. FFC goals for 2001/2002:  a) streamline registration for all programs, b) better communication at all levels, c) more family friendly programs.
