St. Vincent De Paul&

We are waiting for Jesus, that's what we are told as we prepare for Christmas.  Jesus is coming!
As I walked into church this morning I had a funny feeling, "maybe he's already here."  He came unannounced just like last time.  He slipped in unnoticed.  He's that homeless person we gave socks to last spring.  He's that homeless person that's lying on a cold floor, waiting for a warm blanket to keep him warm.  He's waiting once again for the generosity of St. John's to shine forth.  We're waiting for Jesus and once again he's waiting for us!
Next Sunday, December 16, is our last chance to collect socks, used blankets, sleeping bags and pillows for the homeless.  Containers are located at all church entrances.

Circle of Women&
The Circle of Women invites women of all ages to join us Thursday, December 13 when Reverend Nancy Anderson, pastor at Minnehaha United Church of Christ in Minneapolis will present, "Simple Living."  Her presentation will provide a faith perspective on the chaos in our lives and commercialization and will help us look at prioritizing what we do with our money. Circle of Women invite women of all ages to join us in the St. John Pastoral Center (upper level) from 9:15--11:30 a.m.  Childcare is provided by Kari Gill (please pre-register your child by calling 763-785-6947).

Faith Formation&
CELEBRATE THE WORD
Celebrate the Word is happening at the 9:30 & 11:30 a.m. Mass.  Please get your child a nametag and calendar/information sheet from the table in the west entrance to   St. Paul Plaza.  Volunteers are still needed for this program.  Please call Teresa Nueman at 651-633-1540 ext. 1234.

SEEKERS (Adult Theological Book Club)
We are seeking to form an adult faith.  We read a wide  variety of books, and raise a variety of questions.  You are always welcome to join us, we ask only that you read the book.  We will NOT meet in December.  The book for January is
Papal Sin by Garry Wills (Image Books,      Doubleday).  We will meet Thursday, January 31, 7-8:30 p.m., St. Vincent De Paul Room.  Questions call Mary Ann Zervas at 651-633-1540.
