THANK YOU! For sharing a tradition of Catholic Schools with us. Because of your support and cooperation we are able to spread the good word about our school through the community. Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, February 13, 6:30--8:00, PTO meeting in the school cafeteria. There will be a drawing for $50. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! SEE YOU THERE.

FUND RAISING WITHOUT PAYING
The following is a summary of the various ways you can help raise funds for St. John's School without paying extra out of your pocket. GENERAL MILLS CEREAL--Clip box top marked "Box Tops for Education" from General Mills Cereals. St. John's receives $.15 per top. POP CAN TABS--Simply snap tabs from cans. They can be deposited in the drop box outside the library. TARGET GUEST CARD--Register just once and designate St. John's as your school of choice--St. John's school receives 1% of all purchases. This is not limited to St. John's students and families, friends and relatives can designate St. John's at any Target Store Nationwide! CAMPBELL'S SOUP LABELS--Remove labels from Campbell's Soup products, V8 Vegetable juices, Campbell's Tomato Soup, Swanson Frozen Foods, Vlasic pickles, etc. Call the school office for a complete listing. All labels, pop tabs, box tops, etc. may be sent to school and dropped in the drop box outside the office.
SPAC UPDATE
The School Principal's Advisory Committee met January 10. Sr. Gwedolin reported a successful Christmas program. Students are back in school after vacation and working hard. Preparation are underway for Catholic Schools Week, and registration is underway for the 2001-2002 school year.

Seniors& OLD LOG THEATER February 22, 2001-- "A Bed Full of Foreigners" at the Old Log Theater, $35 for lunch/theater & transportation. Spaces are going fast! Deadline to register: February 12. Reservation forms in the "seniors" rack in the back of church or at the parish center.
SENIORS MEETING Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 21. A very important meeting followed by lunch at the New Brighton Service Center.
ANNUAL DAY OF RECOLLETION This will take the place of our March meeting. Speaker: Linda Neal, R. N. $5 covers the cost of lunch.

Quilters' Corner&
ST. JOHN'S CENTENNIAL Plans are beginning for the construction of a Centennial Quilt to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Brighton. Experienced quilters are needed and will be solicited for this project. If you are able to construct an accurate quilt block, can work cooperatively with a group, and are interested in this project we want to talk with you. Respect Life& RESPECT LIFE COMMITTEE TO MEET FEBRUARY 7 The St. John's Respect Life Committee will meet Wednesday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. Members and others are invited to come and make plans for our spring activities.
NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING CLASSES The Ovulation (Billings) Method of Natural Family Planning is safe, healthy and effective. The next classes scheduled at the Church of St. Charles Borromeo in St. Anthony include Monday, February 5 and Thursday, February 22.
