Faith Formation& FIRST EUCHARIST: Please call the Faith Formation Office and let us know when your child will be making their first Eucharist. Choice of time are: Group First Eucharist: Sunday, April 22 @ 1:30 p.m. Family First Eucharist: Saturday, April 21 at the 4:30 Mass or Sunday, April 22 at the 7:30, 9:30 or 11:30 Mass. (20 per Mass)
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS AND CHRISTIAN INITATION OF CHILDREN Lent is a time of "purification and enlightenment for our Elect (unbaptized) and Candidates (baptized). This is a time of recollection, Lenten retreat, and final preparation for the celebration of the initiation sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Presented with the Creed and the Lord's Prayer, these people will be welcomed into the Catholic Church during the Easter Season. This Lenten times purpose is to eliminate what is weak and sinful; and affirm what is holy. The Rites of this period are the three Scrutinies, celebrated today, at the 7:30 a.m. Mass; Sunday, March 25, 9:30 a.m. Mass & Saturday, March 31, 4:30 P.M. Mass. NO FAITH FORMATION CLASSES There will be NO Religious Education classes on Tuesday & Wednesday, March 20 & 21 due to spring break.
Adult Faith Formation& SEEKERS: ADULT THEOLOGICAL BOOK CLUB For our April meeting, we have selected a novel: The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. The book is available at the Ramsey County library or at your favorite book store. Read the selection and join us at our next meeting: Thursday, April 5, 7:00--8:30 p.m. in the Parish Center. Circle of Women& Dr. Diane Millis will be our guest speaker on Thursday, March 29. Diane previously lived in New Brighton as a college student and taught CCD for two years at St. John's. She now works at St. Thomas, College of St. Benedict and St. John's University and teaches at St. Catherine's on Family Spirituality. Come hear her topic, "What to Tell Your Children Spiritually." Circle of Women invites ALL women of ALL ages to join from 9:15--11:25 a.m. in the parish center, lower level. Little Lights Preschool&
St. John's Little Lights Preschool is continuing to accept registrations. The preschool is scheduled to open October 2001 for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. We are offering either morning or afternoon sessions on Monday/Wednesday/Friday OR Tuesday/Thursday. Please call Mary Walus at 651-633-8333 for information/registration materials.
Youth Newz& JR. HIGH LOCKOUT & MYSTERY TOUR Friday, April 20, 7:00 p.m. to Saturday, April 21, 8:00 a.m. Cost: $18/person (includes everything you'll need for a great time) DEADLINE: April 11 Open to 7-8th graders only Some of the things you can expect to do: bowling, pool hall, eat pizza and much more (that's the mystery part) some parts of the party will be at St. John's. Some parts will not be at St. John's (That's part of the mystery too!) Registered participants should be at St. John's gym entrance between 7:00--7:15 p.m. Participants should be picked up between 7:30--8:00 a.m. Youth may want to bring extra money for snacks or video games. Participants will need a sleeping bag (sleeping time available) and gym clothes. (Rollerblades optional) Turn in permission slip and money to Rick by deadline. Friends welcome.
