Little Lights Preschool&
St. John's new preschool program is striving for excellence and expected to open this coming October.  Many have already registered, but we still have openings.  During the next few weeks, we will be publishing a list of the "Top Ten Signs of a Great Preschool" according to the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) -  #1 Children spend most of their playing and working with materials or other children.  They do not wander aimlessly and they are not expected to sit quietly for long periods of time.  At St. John's Little Lights Preschool..... A large portion of our day will be "center time" with a chance for all the children to work at various stations, with different materials and experiences.  The children will be encouraged to move around to different centers and will be interacting with different materials and individuals.
#2 Children have access to various activities throughout the day.  Children should not all be doing the same thing at the same time.   At St. John's Little Lights Preschool.....
We will have a sensory table, art station, blocks, books, housekeeping and dramatic play area, an area with manipulatives that teach early math skills, and a science area.   These stations will coordinate with the theme for the week.  Some will be changed daily, others will change with the theme, every two weeks.  This provides the children with a great variety of activities and the children will move around from area to area. Please call Mary Walus at 651-633-8333  for info./registration materials or on the web at www.stjohnnb.com/LittleLightsPreschool
