Music Notes&
Next Sunday the 11:30 combo will welcome saxophonist Reuben Haugen, filling in for our "snowbirding"  trumpeter, Harry Reiner.  Reuben is a noted educator and performer in the area.

OUR 9:30 CHOIR ANTHEM today is "Many Gifts, One Spirit,"  music written and arranged by director Cheri Sykes.  It can be heard also at the Saturday 4:30 p.m. Mass next weekend, along with other selections, when the choir will visit that mass.

Our Lenten theme hymn for the school as well as "Celebrate the Word" is "If Any One", which you will hear sung each week as the children exit.

DEEPEN YOUR LENTEN EXPERIENCE THROUGH MUSIC Join us in the choir during this profound season as we prepare and sing many of the classics, including Mozart's "Laudate Dominum," Purcell's, "Thou Knowest, Lord, the Secrets of Our Hearts," Fr. Melius Christiansen's arrangement of "Lamb of God,"  Gregor's "Hosanna" with the children's choir on Palm Sunday, and selections from Handel's Messiah, "Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs" and of course, the great "Hallelujah Chorus."  Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:15 p.m. in the church.

Quilters' Corner&

DYE DEMONSTRATION:  On March 27, 2001 Elna Goodspeed will discuss and demonstrate the dyeing of fabric for quilting.  Come and learn how to obtain just the right shade for your quilting creations without searching every fabric store in town.  We will gather at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center basement.  Bring a friend.  Everyone is welcome.  Refreshments will be served.

Liturgy News&

PROGRESS IS OFTEN PAINFUL!  Soon after Easter the pews located in the rear of the baptistry will be removed in order to make way for the new doors into the church.  At the same time the pews from the present chapel also need to go.  Both sets of pews will be completely refinished for use in the new daily mass chapel.  Work is scheduled to be completed early this fall.
For the comfort and convenience of people who have used those rear pews for so long and to accommodate those in wheelchairs, walkers or otherwise needing  assistance on the ramps, the three rearmost pews on either side of the center aisle will be designated for their use.  In addition to the area near the lower sacristy (where the organ used to be) will be reserved for wheelchairs and those who prefer not to stand on an incline.
The pastoral and liturgical staff deeply regrets any sorrow or inconvenience this may cause for the people who have used this area for so long.
