THANK YOU!
A big thank you to Boy Scout Troop #93 who were a wonderful presence in the community last week.  They helped with word/communion services and social activities at three nursing homes.  They baked cookies and potted marigolds to bring and on Friday, Adam Quade helped out at OPEN ARMS, packing and delivering meals to individuals homebound with HIV.  These young men are working on completing their AD ALTARE DEI award.  Congratulations and thanks!

Little Lights Preschool&

"Top Ten Signs of a Great Preschool"

(According to the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) )
#3 Teachers work with individual children, small groups, and the whole group at different times during the day.  They do not spend all their time with the whole group.
At St. John's Little Lights Preschool....
The center-based experience is ideal for this, teachers can work individually with children that need individual attention without distracting from the rest of the group.  They can also work with small groups at this time and there is time scheduled for large group activities as well.
#4  The classroom is decorated with children's original artwork, their own writing with invented spelling, and stories dictated by children to teachers.
At St. John's Little Lights Preschool....
We believe that art is an excellent medium for children to express themselves and that they should be proud of their work and it should be displayed.  Our art will be primarily process based, meaning it is more important for them to be expressive and creative than what the final product looks like.  We will also encourage the children to talk about and document their creations.
St. John's new preschool program is striving for excellence and expected to open this coming October.  Many have already registered, but we still have openings.  Please call Mary Walus at 651-633-8333  for info./registration materials or on the web at www.stjohn nb.com/LittleLightsPreschool
