HEALING MASS
On Wednesday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m., you are invited to join with other members of our parish to celebrate Mass, be anointed and pray for God's healing grace and love for one another.  We will share hospitality after Mass.
"Come to me all you weary, I will refresh you&
learn from me--my yoke is easy and my burden
      light& "    Matthew 6

OPEN ARMS
Volunteers pack and deliver meals this Friday, May 25 to homebound persons affected by the HIV virus.  If you have interest in becoming part of this outreach, call Anne Marie at 651-633-8333.

HELP NEEDED FOR CARE AND COMPANIONSHIP
Help is needed during the day for a female parishioner who is recovering from surgery--NO NURSING CARE IS NEEDED, just someone to visit, play cards, dominoes, befriend.  This could be a paid position--the family is open to options.  Care is needed from 8 - 5 weekdays.  A college student needing summer employment, a retiree who could commit to any number of hours during the week--any help you could offer would be most appreciated.  Call Anne Marie at 651-633-8333 if you are interested.

School News&

There are NO CLASSES on Friday, May 25 and Monday, May 28 because of Memorial weekend.
The
School Mass on Wednesday, May 30 will be at 2pm.
Another exciting school year is coming to a close.  The children have achieved and grown academically and in their spiritual lives.  We have much to be thankful for, not the least of which are the new windows.  They have opened a whole new world of sunshine and smiles in this building.
We have achieved many of the goals set last year.  The curriculum mapping is in progress with the teachers building a data base of who and how the lessons were taught.  The computer teacher designed the database for the curriculum mapping.  The curriculum committees have updated their outcomes.
We have discussed the mission statement with the students and posted it in the classrooms.  We encourage the students to make an effort to follow the mission statement and those who do have their names posted.
Agendas and minutes have been incorporated and used for curriculum and grade level meetings.  Teachers also keep a list of all meetings attended and have rated them for meaning.
All sports team photographs are scheduled for Saturday mornings.  This will eliminate having children leave class to have their picture taken.
A committee has worked on a crisis intervention handbook.  It should be completed by mid-May.
We are currently seeking an assistant to the Director, Technology and Media Services to supervise and assist in the computer lab.
Fire sprinklers have been installed in all the classrooms.
A pre-school has been incorporated into the school, St. John's Little Lights Preschool, with Mrs. Mary Walus as the Director, the preschool is still accepting enrollments, call the Parish Office.
A security camera was donated and has been installed with parent volunteers staffing the hospitality desk.
As you can see this has been a busy and productive year.  We are grateful to everyone who helped us achieve our goals.  We thank God for his gifts, guidance and presence in our school.

Preschool&
ST. JOHN'S LITTLE LIGHTS PRESCHOOL
We still have openings in several classes of the new preschool, scheduled to open in October of this year.  We continue to strive for excellence in our program and are dedicated to nurturing the growth of every child in a Christian based atmosphere.  Please call Mary Walus at 651-633-8333 for more information.
Everyone registered for preschool should have picked up their book bag, t-shirt and registration forms.  If you have not, please contact Mary Walus at the parish office.
