AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE
On August 15, St. John's is sponsoring a blood drive for the American Red Cross.  We are having sign-ups after all Masses the weekend of August 4/5.  Please consider donating your blood& together we can save a life.

GROWING THRU LOSS
Beginning in September, the Growing Thru Loss program will once again begin a six week series at Roseville Lutheran Church.  There is a need for facilitators for small grief groups.  Facilitator orientation training provided.  You need only a loving heart and willingness to provide guidance for six weekly evening sessions.  St. John's has been involved with Growing Thru Loss for many years and currently Susan Amos Palmer is one of the program co-directors.  If this interests you, call Anne Marie at    651-633-8333.

BEFRIENDER MINISTRY
Befriender Ministry at St. John's is very ALIVE.  We  currently have 20 individuals who have completed training and now have a relationship with a parishioner who has asked for a companion.  Many of our befriended parishioners are homebound, or walking through grief after a loss, or isolated because of a chronic illness or have little family support nearby.  We all need each other in this world and the Befriender Ministry helps bring people together and bring the gospel to bear on each others lives.  Each month the Befrienders gather to support one another, share prayer and have a little fun.  If you are       interested in becoming a Befriender,  training begins this fall.  Call Anne Marie at 651-633-8333.

SEEKERS:  ADULT THEOLOGICAL BOOK CLUB
Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 27.  The book to read is The Birth of Christianity by John Dominic Crossan, HarperSanFrancisco.  It is available at the Ramsey County Library or at your favorite bookstore.  You are always welcome to join us to discuss a book that captures your interest, or as a regular member.  Explore your faith, expand your vision.  SEEKERS meets from 7:00--8:30 p.m. in the parish center.  Questions?  Call Mary Ann Zervas at 651-633-1540.  (The selection for    October 25 meeting is Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross, Ballantine Books, New York)

Little Lights Preschool&
We continue to take registrations for our new Preschool, space is limited, so register today!!  We have hired a great teacher for our preschool, come meet her at the Family Picnic--July 25, 2001--6:00--7:30 p.m. at Sunny Square Park in New Brighton.
