If you would like to bring up the Gifts of Bread and Wine on special days in your life, please stop by the  Information Desk or see the Sacristan when you arrive early to Mass.  We would be pleased to accommodate your needs as they arise.  Even if you're not celebrating a special day, you may always ask to present the gifts.

ATTENTION SEWERS
If you are experienced at sewing, we need you for a short-term project.  In preparation for the dedication of the new St. John Pastoral Centre on October 13, we are creating a set of Festival Flags for the new pedestrian streetlights, the new narthex and the church.  If you can help with this project, please call Eileen Scott at 651-604-0919.  All      materials provided.  Thank you!

Quilters&
Do you have quilts to be quilted but no time to finish them?  We will learn a simple technique for machine stitching-in-the-ditch using a walking foot at our meeting on Tuesday, July 24.  This will speed things up for you.  As usual we will gather at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center lower level meeting room.  Join us for a relaxed evening of quilting.  Questions?  Call Margaret at (763) 784-5094 or Myrtle at (651) 633-5102.

LAST CALL!!!     GRAND CASINO HINKLEY
St. John's SilverTones is sponsoring a Casino trip to Grand Casino Hinkley on Wednesday, July 25, 2001.  Cost is $6.00, you get $5.00 back in quarters at the door.  (You will not receive $5 unless you have a Grand Advantage Players Card! Please put your Grand Advantage card number on your trip reservation form or list full legal name, full address and date of birth on the reservation form.)  We will play bingo on the bus.  We will leave from St. John's parking lot at 9:15 a.m. and return at approximately 4:15 p.m.  Pick up a reservation form from the Seniors slots on the bulletin boards in the back of church or in the parish office. 

Respect Life&
THE BABY BUSH IS COMING!
The Respect Life Committee is sponsoring the annual Baby Bush collection the weekends of August 4/5 and August 11/12.  The Baby Bush will be located in the back of the church near the baptismal font and will contain baby gift tags with specific items desired for donation.
Please "pick" a baby gift tag from the bush and return it with the item requested!  Open your hearts to these    newest children of God who are in need of your love and generosity!

CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE
 The Centennial Committee is hard at work planning the year long celebration of our 100 years as a parish.  We have many exciting events planned and many opportunities exist to get in on the fun.  If you want to work on a sub-committee or help in any way, please    contact Deb L. at the parish center, 651-633-8333.

PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING
Professional Psychological Counseling is available to the adults of St. John's, without cost.  Hours are day time on Tuesdays. Call the Parish Office to make an appointment.
