Building Project Update&
If you have been watching the construction process, you may have noticed all the tubing running through the floor of the new Chapel.  This is for the in-floor heat that will keep the Chapel warm in the winter.  It is a system that is similar to what is in the Church.  They have finished the framing for the skylights in the west canopy entrance to the new building and skylights were installed this past week.  The concrete floor was poured and, on the metal studs have been put in the west wall of the Chapel, the roof will go up on the Chapel and main entrance.  Once the roof is complete work will begin in the church creating the ceremonial doors.  Inside the new building, work continues on the main floor.  Most of the basement and second floor is complete.  Installation of exposed aggregate and sidewalks on the west side of the building began this week.  We are 54 days and counting until dedication weekend.  Mark your calendar and watch for weekly bulletin updates!

Boy Scout Troop 93 news...

Saint John the Baptist sponsors us.  Our troop operates with Scoutmaster Charlie Goebel, Senior Patrol Leader Justin Lee, and the Wookie, Flaming Arrow, and Panther Patrols.  Some of the things we have been involved with
this summer...
Marched in the Memorial Day Parade along with the Pack 93 Cub Scouts.
Packaged 7992 meals for "Feed My Starving Children", and learned who the people are that need this food and how it will be delivered.
Michael Goebel completed his Eagle Project of painting all the fire hydrants in Saint Anthony Village.  He worked with the city, arranged for materials, recruited a work force, overcame obstacles, and carried out his plan over two weekends.  Congratulations Mike!
22 of the 28 boys attended Many Point summer camp, (four of the other six boys went to the National Jamboree).  The boys completed 49 merit badges at summer camp.  Besides merit badges, the first year boys learned basic skills and the older boys attended high adventure outings.  The Troop had activity time as well, doing such things as "greased watermelon", archery-tomahawk-slingshot, climbing tower, fire tower, history center, ironman, vespers, polar bear swim, rifle shooting, beach bash, horse riding, ethics in action, super troop project, and totin' chip-firem'n chit.   You will see us working and having fun around the church, school, and community.  Please ask us about our Troop, and support us when you can.
