SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE MEETING
ATTENTION INREACH COMMITTEE

The inreach committee will meet on Monday, August 27, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Inreach considerations will be addressed from 7:00-8:00 p.m. An open forum will be held from 8:00 - 8:30 p.m. The primary purpose of the meeting is to follow up on plans for Inreach Interview Training to take place in September. All persons who attended the ISAIAH retreat and Inreach training in May are encouraged to attend. As always, anyone interested in this activity, or any other topics or activities around Catholic Social Teaching and actions, are welcome to attend. Questions, concerns, comments? September 4 is the first day of school for the students at St. John's with classes beginning at 9:30 a.m. and school dismissal at 4:00 p.m.
We are sure that you will find this a rewarding year for your child. If at any time you have a question about school, do call the office at 651-633-1522. We wish the best for you and your family during the coming year.
Please use your Target Card and Office Max Card designating St. John's New Brighton as your favorite school. Please save General Mills Cereal Box Top s and pop tabs. And help us save labels from "Campbell's Labels for Education Program" from Campbell's products.

BOYS' SOCCER
Boys' grades 5,6,7, & 8 soccer practice begins August 27, 10:00 a.m. at the Korean Church.

GIRLS' SOCCER
Girls' grade 8 soccer practice will be from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. at Driftwood in New Brighton on August 28, 29 & 30. Please bring soccer shoes and pads as well as soccer ball and water.

Girls' grades 6 & 7 soccer practice begins August 27, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at Perry Park.

Pastoral Ministry&
On any given week many people call St. John's to ask for the prayers of the community. There is an incredible amount of strength that is drawn from one another and from our good and gracious God when we really take seriously our gift and responsibility to hold one another in prayer - count on each other.

BEFRIENDER MINISTRY

To Rita Spiess for doing a wonderful job organizing our August 15 Blood Drive with the help of the Open Doors Group and the PrimeTimers. The blood drive was very successful - thanks to all who gave blood.

GROWING THROUGH LOSS
