Building Project Update&
Mark your calendar!  The new St. John Pastoral    Centre will be formally dedicated on Saturday, October 13, 2001.  The celebration will go on all   weekend with an Open House after all Masses.  More     information on the dedication weekend will be    coming in September.  The parish staff will begin moving into the new building the first week in October and the new St. John's Little Lights Preschool will begin classes on Monday, October 15.
There are still many things that have to be done before the building is complete.  As you can see, the chapel and new west entrance are starting to take shape.  The new building is now connected to both the school and church.  As soon as the roof has been put on the new chapel, workers will being the process of opening the new building into the church.  Three new entrances into the new building from the church will be created.  Work on this part of the project should begin by the middle of August.  The resorted stained glass windows should be installed in the new Chapel by the middle of September.  Work inside the new building is ongoing.  It is the goal of the general contractor to have both the basement and second floor completely finished by the first week in September.  The area around the new building should be ready for landscaping by the first week in September.

Sowers of Justice&
The Good Neighbor Back to School Program sponsored by Ralph Reeder Food Shelf has been providing children in need in our area with back to school supplies for the past four years and are doing it again this year.  The names of the children who need are help are generated primarily from area schools via principals and social workers.  Items needed include:  #2 pencils, pens (black, blue and red), crayons, washable markers, erasers, scissors (blunt and pointed), liquid glue, glue sticks, rulers, school boxes, kleenex, compass, protractor, notebooks (wide and narrow ruled), loose-leaf paper, 2-pocket folders, 3-ring binders, backpacks/school bags, and pocket calculators.  If you wish to donate any of these items can be left at the "food shelf" containers at the entrances of the church or delivered directly to Ralph Reeder Food Shelf.  Cash   contributions are also welcome.  If you wish to volunteer your time to this project or to the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, call Lisa at 651-639-6021.  Thank you for your     continued support of local outreach programs.
