NOTE:
In 1997, 1/4 of area homeless families with children received most of their income from work.  Over half of those earned more than $1000 per month.
Housing is usually considered to be affordable if it costs no more that 30% of income.  In the Twin Cities Area, however, 185,000 households with annual incomes below $30,000 pay more than this amount for their    housing.

Adoration
Mother Teresa said, "Let us make time for visits to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.  Countless blessings are sure to follow, for Our Savior will not be outdone in generosity."
Because of up-coming surgeries, babies, travel etc.  Adorers are need for the following hours:  Monday, 7-8 AM;  Friday, 1-2 PM, 7-8 PM; Saturday, 3-4 AM, 7-8 AM 11AM-noon, noon-1PM.  For more information, call Dorothy at (612) 789-8647 or Mary at (651) 633-9358.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Two years ago we toured five homeless shelters in one  evening. We witnessed a lottery to see who got a bed for the night and who had to go back out on the street. We saw a shelter where people could only lay on cold tile floors. One shelter held up to 500 people and didn't open until 11 p.m. The shelters were many blocks apart and it was cold! The canyons of downtown are very cold and unfriendly.  Each shelter needs many things, but right now they need socks and blankets. Adult socks to keep feet warm and blankets to keep the cold from penetrating.
Let's give to these, the least of our brothers and sisters.
Containers are at the church doors.  Thank you!
