Thursday, January 24 R2 early dismissal @12:25 p.m.  Kindergarten class attends in AM.
Friday, January 25, R1 early dismissal @12:25, no classes for the PM kindergarten class.
Catholic Schools Week is coming soon--January 27 through February 1, 2002.
Registration for St. John's kindergarten for the 2002-2003 school year is part of Catholic Schools Week.  Join us at our OPEN HOUSE, Sunday, January 27, at 12:30 p.m. Registration takes place in the school cafeteria from 12:30--1:30 p.m.
Please bring the following for registration:

  1. Birth certificate
  2. Baptismal certificate (unless baptized at St. John's)
  3. A fee of $100 is paid at the time of registration.  No   student is considered registered unless this fee accompanies the registration form.

Seniors&
SILVERTONES MONTHLY MEETING
The January Silvertones meeting will be held Wednesday, January 16.  The meeting begins at 10:45 a.m.  Lunch     follows at 11:30.  Following lunch we will play "Bunko".  Cost for lunch is $3.  Reservations are required.  Please call Kitty Collins, 651-639-1091 no later than Sunday,  January 13. 

GRAND CASINO HINCKLEY
It's time to sign up for another trip to Grand Casino--Hinckley.  Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002.  9:15 a.m. departure.  $6 ($10 voucher at the door!).  For questions/information call Ginny Petro at 763-784-5254.

Music Notes&
As we conclude our Advent/Christmas season, special thanks to all our SJB musicians who devoted extra time and talent to create such a wonderful observance and  celebration.                   

Preschool&
St. John's Little Lights Preschool will begin taking registrations for the 2002/2003 school year on January 17 with a Round-up for parents and preschoolers.  Little Lights offers a half day program either two or three days per week.  We are a Christian based program with staff dedicated to each individual student and their family.  Round-up will begin at 6:00 p.m.  There will be a parent meeting while the preschoolers are busy with their own activities.  Please call Mary Walus 651-633-1540 ext. 1227 for more information.


Youth Newz&
Junior high Odyssey (faith formation) will begin again January 16 and students will be studying "moral decision making". If you missed the " parents only" session on January 9th call Sara Riehle for more information 763-754-7666.

Odyssey students who have not yet completed their Bible study assignments due in December, are asked to complete the assignment and turn them in on January 16th. Refer to the "Monthly Devotional" on the back page of the Newzpaper for an example of how to complete the assignment.

The new Junior High Live will resume January 16, from 7:30-9:00. All 7th and 8th graders and their friends are     invited to attend.

Senior High Students are invited to register for Service Club III which will be held on Five Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00pm, beginning January 30th. Service Club gives participants the opportunity to perform service in the community during the first four sessions. A "fun" social activity is planned for the fifth week. The deadline to   register is January 16th. Consult the Newzpaper for details or call Sara Riehle at 763-754-7666.

All 7th-12th graders are invited to spend Monday, January 21, at Afton Alps, skiing and snowboarding (bring friends too!).  Participants will leave St. John's gym entrance at 10:00am and return at 7:00pm. The cost for the trip, $25, includes transportation and a lift ticket. Equipment rental is extra. You will also need to pack a lunch and dinner or bring money for food. Chaperones are needed for this event and chaperones will be given a free lift ticket. Please submit a permission slip and money to Rebecca Janicke by January 14. See the Newzpaper for more details.
