The next wedding workshop will be Thursday, February 7, from 7:00--8:30 p.m. in the Pastoral Center. Anyone planning a wedding is required to come to a workshop to help plan your wedding liturgy, including readings and music. Please call the parish office to register for the workshop.

GRAND CASINO HINCKLEY
It's time to sign up for another trip to Grand Casino--Hinckley. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002. 9:15 a.m. departure. $6 ($10 voucher at the door!). For questions/information call Ginny Petro at 763-784-5254.

SPRING TOUR TO "ETHNIC IOWA"
A special spring tour for seniors is scheduled for May 1-3 to Iowa. Stops include: Redemption Grotto at West Bend, the Tulip Festival at Pella, and the Amana Colonies, all in Iowa. The tour includes Luxury Coach, two nights lodging and five meals. Cost is $309 per person (double occupancy). Prices vary for singe, three or four to a room. Brochures are available in the parish office. Space is limited so please send in your reservation as soon as possible.

FOOD SHELF VOLUNTEERS

St. John's is in need of volunteers to staff our food shelf. Food Shelf hours are Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10:00 a.m.--noon. Volunteers receive training and generous support and YOU CAN BRING SOMETHING WITH YOU! If you want a couple of hours each week to devote to reading, knitting, etc. - bring it with you! If you are interested, call Teri Shea at the parish office, 651-633-8333.

PLAYGROUND POSITION AVAILABLE

If you are a mom, dad or grandparent and love to work with children, have consistent policies and are punctual, St. John's is looking for a playground supervisor for grades 1-8. Hour are 11:45--1:05 daily. This position pays $10 per day. Call the school office at 651-633-1522.

	OPEN DOORS (divorced/widowed/singles group) meet the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Pastoral Center for socializing and snacks. UPCOMING EVENTS: February 2--Cosmic bowling at Flaharty's in Arden Hills (Cty. Rd E & Snelling Ave.) Lanes are reserved from 1:30--4:00 p.m. Cost for bowling is $3.75 per person. Must RSVP to Teri at St. John's (651-633-8333) by January 29. February 12--Open Doors will sponsor Pete Feigal, who will speak from his own experience on "Making the Most Out of Life" - finding the gifts and joy in life's challenges. The entire parish community is invited. Refreshments following speaker. March 23--March 20 marks a full year of Open Doors! Plan to come to the One Year Anniversary Bash! Watch for details. 	Missing your favorite cake pan? A crock pot? Your favorite casserole dish? Stop by the narthex and check the Funeral Dish cupboard. We may have something you've been missing for a long time! Thank you to everyone on the Funeral Luncheon Committee for all your hard work and hospitality. It is a privilege that we are able to offer funeral luncheons to our parish community and we thank all those who make calls, bring food and help serve and clean up at luncheons. (We are always looking for more help with this ministry, call the Parish Office to sign up.)
