PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING
Psychological counseling for adults will once again be available for adults of the parish.  It is generally intended for those who feel that they cannot afford private counseling.  There is no fee.  Dr. Tom Scheller will be  available on Tuesdays.  For questions, or to make a confidential appointment, call Teri at the parish office,   651-633-8333.

SALEM PERFORMING ARTS SERIES
The Salem Performing Arts Series presents The 28th Annual St. Olaf Band Cathdral Concert.  Sunday, April 21 at 3:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  The St. Olaf Band is the oldest musical organization at St. Olaf College, a college renowned internationally for the high caliber of its musical ensembles.  This 90 member group performs the very best in original composition and transcriptions for the symphonic band, producing an exciting, crowd-pleasing style!  Tickets are $10 and $5 for students.  For ticket information call the Salem Covenant Church office at 651-633-9615.

ST. JOHN'S SCHOOL CELEBRATES 50 YEARS
On June 22, 2002 we will have a grand celebration to end the 50th anniversary of St. John the Baptist School!  All who wish to help plan this party please call Deb Zeien at 651-631-1544.

OPEN DOORS (divorced/widowed/singles group) meets the second Tuesday of each month from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the St. Martin de Porres Room for socializing and snacks.   New monthly events beginning in May include a weekly walking club and a "Restaurant of the Month" gathering the 4^th Thursday of each month.  Watch the bulletin for details! 

UPCOMING EVENTS:
April 24 - Spring Pastoral Ministry Celebration in the St. Martin de Porres Room at St. John's from 7:00-9:00 p.m.  Cheryl Karpin will speak and a light supper will be served.  Meet new people who are involved at St. John's in other ways. 

April 27 - Laughter is the best medicine!  Join us at the Comedy Sportz Club for the 8:00 p.m. show. Be there by 7:30 p.m. to purchase ticket and for best seating.  Cost of ticket is $10.  Located at the corner of 28^th & Hennepin - or - carpool from St. John's parking lot at 6:30. RSVP by April 24 to Jan at 651-780-2142. 

May 1 - First date for the newly formed Weekly Walking Club!  Group will walk every Wednesday (weather permitting) from 6:00-7:00 p.m.  Meet at the boat launch area at Long Lake Regional Park (Take 694 to Long Lake Road & go north - take a right at Beach Road and follow signs to boat launch/lake access).  Call Barb at 763-784-6399 with any questions. 

June 8 - Twins fan? Even if you're not, come anyway! Twins vs. Florida Marlins -- game time is 6:05 p.m.   Meet at 4:00 p.m. at Grandma's (1810 Washington Ave S MPLS) for an early dinner.  Reservations under "Open Doors."  Cost of ticket is $10.  Money must be dropped off or mailed to St. John's Church, Attention:  Open Doors/Twins Game by May 10.
