FUNDRAISING WITHOUT PAYING
Fundraising is so important at St. John's.  These efforts help keep tuition reasonable and provide additional equipment for teachers and students.  The following is a summary of the various ways you can help raise funds for St. John's without anything extra out of your pocket.

  • General Mills Cereal - clip box top marked, "Box Tops for Education" from General Mills cereals.  St. John's     receives $.15 per top.
  • Pop can tabs - simple snap tabs from cans.  They can be    deposited in the drop box outside the library.
  • shopforschool.com - St. John's earns up to 25% of the  purchase price on items such as books, clothing, music, computers, gift certificates and more.  Simply visit shopforschool.com.  It's free, easy and our kids benefit!
  • Target Guest Card - Simply use your Target Guest Card when making purchases at Target stores nationwide.  1% of purchase is returned to St. John's.  This benefit is not limited to St. John's students and families.  Anyone can designate St. John's as their school of choice regardless of where they live!
  • Campell's Soup Labels - Remove the labels from all Campbell's Soup cans.  Campbell's Tomato Juices are also eligible.  Other Labels for Education products include: Vlasic peppers, pickles, relishes and sauerkraut; all V8  vegetable juices; all Swanson frozen foods, broths & poultry; all Prego spaghetti sauces; all Pepperidge Farm products; all Pace picante sauces; all Open Pit BBQ sauces; all Marie's croutons, dips, dressings and Desserts in Minutes.
SPAC UPDATE
The School Principal's Advisory Committee met May 8 for the final meeting of the school year.  Sr. Gwendolin reported students busy with testing and end of year activities, and the eighth graders eagerly awaiting graduation.
Sr. Gwendolin also reported progress against all goals being worked on in the on-going accreditation self-evaluation process.  Goals include cross grade teacher observation, faith development, curriculum mapping, technology improvements, volunteer use, challenging students at all ability levels, and increasing student sense of responsibility.  As well as these goals, next year there will be special focus on diversity awareness and social justice.
One person was recommended to the Pastor to serve as a new member in SPAC, for a 3-year term beginning this fall.  Our thanks to all those who applied!  Thanks to Tony McDonald for his years of service on SPAC.
