Makaria& ONE HAIL MARY A DAY CRUSADE The Makaria Ministry would like to ask you to say one Hail Mary a day for those in our community who are suffering from any form of family violence. We are not asking you to make a pledge, just tell the Blessed Mother what you are saying it for. By doing this we can form a powerhouse of prayer. Then the members of our faith community will have the courage to come forward and seek help when it is needed. This could be our Hail Mary miracle.

BATTERY RECYCLING
Did you know that battery recycling should be an important part of our daily lives? The toxic heavy metals in batteries such as lead, cadmium and mercury can be released into the environment if they are placed in landfills. Improper incineration of batteries can release hazardous chemicals into the atmosphere. The only safe alternative is to collect and bring batteries to an organization that extracts and reuses these metals. Any other way results in environmental pollution and impacts the health of our future children. During the month of July, the Boy Scouts will have collection containers available at St. John's for used batteries. All types of used batteries such as those used in flashlights, radios, Gameboys, cordless telephones, watches, hearing aids, cameras, etc. are being collected. So start saving those batteries! Questions about battery recycling call 651-481-9216.
