Circle of Women&
     We invite women of all age to join us in the Katherine Drexel room on the 2^nd floor of the Parish Center.    Thursday August 15^th, 2002 6:30-8:30 pm will mark the   beginning of our fifth year.  This evening event will give you a glimpse into the lives of some of St. John's parish women, and perhaps encourage you to make Thursday mornings with us your special prayer time.  Come join the circle, and bring a friend... .
     Our speaker for the evening will be Delmarie Gibley from the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in St. Paul.  Delmarie has a passion for the empowerment of women, and has sought to share this as Director of WomenWell, a center for women who wish to explore their spiritual journey, uncover their own wisdom and celebrate their unique person.  She will lead us in "Growing in Wisdom, Age and Grace: a Reflection on our Stories."

Befrienders...
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A BEFRIENDER?
You are invited to consider joining our next  Befriender training class beginning in September. 

"A Befriender is a caring Christian who can listen and offer their companionship to parishioners in need of support." 

Educationally and spiritually based training and supervision is provided.  This experience will help you enhance your skills while you make new friends and become an important part of this St. John's ministry. 

AN INFORMATION MEETING will be held on Wednesday, August 28th in the Pastoral Center.

OPEN DOORS - Open Doors meets this Tuesday, August 13th at 7:30 in St. Martin de Porres Room.  We will finalize plans for the Fallfest booth and basket. 
All interspersed with Food and Fun!  Come- if you've never tried us, come the 13th-You'll be glad!

Every Wednesday - REMINDER - Group walks every Wednesday (weather permitting) from 6:00-7:00 p.m.  Meet at the boat launch area at Long Lake Regional Park.  Call Barb at 763-784-6399 with any questions. 

August 13 - Planning meeting for fall activities.  Come and share your ideas and/or volunteer to coordinate an event!  Meet 7:30-9:00 p.m. in St. Martin de Porres Rm.

August 22 - Restaurant of the Month (watch for        details!)
