School News&
Now that summer is coming to a close and everyone has had a chance to relax and renew his or her enthusiasm, the business of beginning a new school year should be a welcome experience. Hopefully, your children are excited about a new school year. Our theme this year is "Catholic Schools: Making a World of Difference." August 22, 2002 is "Meet My Teacher Night" 6:00-7:00 pm. Come to school, meet the teacher and check the classroom and discover which room your child/children will be in. September 3 is the first day of school for the students at St. John's with classes beginning at 9:30 A.M. and school dismisses at 4:00 P.M. We are sure that you will find this a rewarding year for your child/children. If at any time you have a question about school, do call the office (651) 633-1522. BOY'S FALL SOCCER Boy's grades 5, 6, 7, & 8 soccer practice begins August 26 through August 29, 10:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M. at the Korean Church. Little Lights Preschool& CLASSSES BEGIN SEPTEMBER 9 We are all set to begin classes the week of September 9th. We offer a half-day program (Morning or Afternoon) two or three days a week and a four year old afternoon program that meets five days a week. Seniors& SILVERTONES AUGUST MEETING Please join us for the August Silvertones' Meeting! It will be held on Tuesday, August 20, at 9:15, (immediately following the 8:30 am Mass) in the Jeanne Jugan Room in the lower level of the Pastoral Center. A continental break fast will be served at no charge. No reservation is need for summer meetings. ALL SENIORS WHO WISH TO COME ARE WELCOME.
Adoration& ADORATION MEETING The St. John the Baptist Adoration Committee will meet Tuesday, August 20, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Clare Room on the second floor of the Pastoral Center. Guests are welcome.

Adult Opportunities& LITTLE ROCK BIBLE STUDY- Learn to make the Psalms of descriptive praise, trust and wisdom your own prayer. The Little Rock Bible Study will begin a seven week study of the Psalms, starting September 30 through November 11, on Mondays from 7:00-8:30 PM. Cost is $15.00 for materials. SEEKERS (Adult Theological Book Club) You are always welcome to join us, we ask only that you read the book. We have chosen the Gospel of John for August. You will need your Bible plus a commentary on the Gospel, which is available from Dorothy Kunze (651-633-1205). We will meet Thursday, August 22, 7-8:30 p.m., in the St. Vincent de Paul Room. Explore your faith, expand your vision. We read a wide variety of books and ask a wide variety of questions, because we are seeking to form an adult faith.
