FIRST RECONCILIATION PARENTS:  All students should be covering the 3rd lesson in their preparation for this important sacrament.  If you did not attend the group meeting on Sept. 27 and have not received the craft, please call Teresa Neuman at 651-633-1540, ext. 1234.

THE BUTTER BRAID BREADS ARE COMING BACK!  Elementary Faith Formation will be selling Butter Braid Breads as a fundraiser on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, October 25/26 after all the Masses.  Please come and sample this delicious bread and place your order.  You don't want to miss this opportunity to share delicious bread with your family while helping the students of Elementary Faith Formation.

FAITH FORMATION PARENTS (GRADES 1 - 6):  There will be NO CLASSES on Wednesday, October 15, due to the MEA Convention.  Enjoy this time off with your family.  See you next week.

JUNIOR HIGH (7th & 8th grades) FAITH FORMATION  NO classes on Wednesday, October 15.  See you when classes resume on Wednesday,  October 22 .

CIRCLE OF WOMEN NO meeting this Thursday, Oct. 16.

LADIES NIGHT OUT is Friday, October 24! The "Sister" singing group will be back, and advance tickets are $5.00, which includes the concert and refreshments. Bring your mother, daughter, sister, friends -- this is a MUST see.  Call Mary Walus for ticket information, 651-633-8333, ext. 1227.

SEEKERS (Adult Theological Book Club): Next meeting is  October 30, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., at St. John's in Room 210. The book to read is: Scarred by Struggle, Transformed by Hope by Joan Chittister (William B. Eerdman Publishing).

YMCS (Young Married Couples Society) is a group of young married couples who engage in service, spirituality, stewardship, and social activities.  We meet the third Monday of each month at St. John's.  We are always looking for new members.  Please contact Jacquie at 651-481-1384, or e-mail to: j.cavanagh@att.net for information and a schedule.

Monday, October 20, monthly meeting:  7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Blessed Kateri Room, #211.  Meet for the Living Rosary, discussion of Introduction to the Devout Life (sections 1-8), and time to catch up with one another.

ST. JOHN'S COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN will host the Living Rosary in Church on Monday, October 20, at 7:00 p.m. A special blessing will be given to expectant mothers since October is both Rosary and Respect Life Month.  If you would like to participate as a bead in the Rosary, please call Lois at 651-633-6086, and gather in St. Paul Plaza by 6:40 p.m. All are invited to join us! Hospitality will follow, and baskets will be at the baptismal font for donations to Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home. 

Music Notes

CALLING ALL VOCALISTS:  Earthen Vessels, our acoustic folk group, needs more vocalists. Earthen Vessels leads the Saturday 4:30 p.m. liturgy twice monthly, with rehearsals the previous Monday. This is a lighter commitment than our parish choir, and perfect for parents with young families.  We could even assist with childcare.   

SJB Adult Choir welcomes new members any time of year, but especially now. If you can carry a tune, you are invited to join us as we grow in musicianship and camaraderie while creating musical prayer.  We will work with your busy schedule.  Seasonal singers welcome!  Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. in the Choir Room.  Contact Cheri Sykes for both opportunities at 651-633-8333, ext. 1231.
