GROWING THROUGH LOSS  continues this week on Thursday, October 23. The speaker is Sister Adaire Lassonde.   She will speak on "Self-care: Taking care of your Feelings." The series is held at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church at 8211 Red Oak Drive in Moundsview. Begins at 6:45 p.m. with registration, a speaker. and small groups. If you are currently walking with grief, please consider this experience as a way of help and support for you. 


NEEDED: Eucharistic Minister to bring Communion to all Catholics at Unity Hospital once or twice a month on Fridays.  Call Anne Marie at  651-633-8333, ext. 1237.

School News

     A BIG THANK YOU to all parishioners who donated towards the St. John's School Marathon.  We collected $3,183 from the parish at large.  The total amount collected is approximately $48,000.  A big thank you to Jim Hanton for chairing this event for the school.  Our students did a great job of walking and riding of bikes around Central Park. 
     On Friday, October 31, there is early dismissal for  students at 12:25 PM.  Kindergarten AM class is in session, but there are NO CLASSES for the Kindergarten PM class.

COAT DRIVE  continues for those in need in our own community. St. John's will be collecting coats until Saturday, October 25 (sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul  Society).   

CASINO TRIP  The next Casino Trip will be Tuesday,     November 18.   The destination is Turtle Lake.  Watch for flyers.  Call Ginny  at (763) 784-5254. 

QUILTERS meet this Friday, October 24, at 1:00 p.m. in the Lower Level Room 108.  All are welcome to join us.

It will be an OLD FASHIONED TURKEY DINNER so bring    family and friends to enjoy a full delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

This year we will have an "Auntie's Attic" booth for those  gently used articles that every home has - - souvenir items, old records, tapes, statues, vases, pictures, toys, jewelry, yard goods.

A special feature will be booths of local artists organized by  parishioner Joyce Vanderwyst. We are looking for crafts of all kinds: paintings, paper arts, jewelry, sculptures, woodworking, needle arts, etc. If interested, call Joyce at 651-633-0131.

Please look for your favorite Apple or Pumpkin Pie recipe.  Your generous donation of your homemade pie defrays the cost and makes dessert special.
