School News

SPAC UPDATE The School Principal's Advisory Committee held their first meeting of the school year. Sue Clausen, Principal, reported a good beginning to the school year with students working hard. Volunteers have started working on projects such as school pictures, vision screening, Santa's Secret Shop, and helping in the classrooms. SPAC members formed committees for Finance, Marketing, and Policies.  The Finance Committee will propose 2004-2005 tuition rates at the November SPAC meeting.  SPAC members will also chair committees to research uniform policies and school start times. A special thanks to the Hanton's, the Marathon committee, students, and all who contributed to this year's successful Marathon. The School Principal's Advisory Committee is an advisory board.  Its primary responsibility is to advise the principal on policy matters.  Parents with questions or concerns about the day-to-day operations of the school are asked to call Sue Clausen at 651-633-1522, ext. 1117.

The school is seeking volunteers who would like to help monitor the lunchroom with a school-appointed supervisor.  Please call Ellen Stanslaski, 651 633-1522, ext. 1118, if you would be interested in doing this on a regular basis.

On Friday, October 31, there is early dismissal for students at 12:25 PM.  Kindergarten AM class is in session, but there are NO CLASSES for the Kindergarten PM class.

LITTLE LIGHTS PRESCHOOL  The school year started out great with the students learning about apples and changing seasons, visiting an apple orchard, taking a nature hike, and quickly settling into an academic schedule. The school is looking forward to a visit by live penguins from Como Zoo! Out of the mouths of babes: Recently heard in the classroom after the bell rang, signaling it was time to clean up, one student said to his classmates, "Let's rock n' roll, boys; the bell has rung!"
