Good Job!

Mel Jass, a well-known personality on television in the Twin Cities for many years, used to ask people what they did for a living.  When they would tell him, he would follow up by saying, "Well, you've got a good job!"   If you told him today that you worked for Krispy Kreme, Hamline University, Lunds, The Gap, or the St. Paul Hotel, would he still say,  "Well, you've got a good job!"?  Probably not, because some of the people who worked for these companies in 2002 were also guests at Simpson Homeless Shelter.  Even though they were working for these good companies, they could not afford today's high rents; they were homeless.  It can happen to anyone and it does!
Your donation of socks & blankets the past few weeks have poured in. We have at least lit a candle. Thanks, St. John's,  "You've done a good job!"
This is the last weekend to  collect socks & blankets.  Merry Christmas!

[Sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul Society]

The  deadline for all bulletin items is 12:00 noon on Thursday, 10 days before the Sunday publication date.

All submissions will be edited for length & content and are subject to final approval. Please remember that space is limited!
  Thank you for your cooperation.
