ST. VINCENT DE PAUL MEETING on Tuesday,  December 16, at 7:00 p.m.

DID YOU KNOW??? On the first and second Tuesday of each month, a group from St. John's goes to Branch III  (a program of Catholic Charities) on 17th & Chicago in Minneapolis to prepare and serve lunch.  They have been doing this for many years! Help is needed, especially for the winter months. Workers arrive about 9:30 a.m. and are done by 12:30 p.m. There is parking behind the building and it is well staffed. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!  Call Anne Marie if you would like to help, 651-633-8333, ext. 1237.

DID YOU KNOW??? Donna Craig of our parish writes a prayer letter every month that is sent to 200+ parishioners as a way of praying in our community. Thank you, Donna!

THIS TIME OF YEAR is often very hard and lonely for those who are walking grief's journey.  Find it in your heart to reach out to someone who needs you!

THE NURSING HOME MINISTRY could use a couple more volunteers for once a month on a Tuesday for services  at 11:45 a.m. Call Anne Marie, 651-633-8333, ext. 1237.

School News

ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18, you are invited to attend our Christmas Program, "Yesterday, Today, Forever," at 7:00 p.m. in Church. We encourage all of you to come and enjoy our gift of love to you.

CHRISTMAS VACATION begins Friday, December 19, with dismissal at 4:00 p.m.

Each of our Kindergarten students was delighted to receive a special book titled, A Book About Me.  The Telephone Pioneers of America - St. Paul Chapter, sponsored this event.  Their purpose is to promote reading among kindergarten students and to assist people with special needs such as the Special Olympics.  Mr. Paul Tarnowski and his wife, Hope, presented these special books to each kindergarten student.  The books are delightful; each of our kindergartners' names are used in the story. The children really enjoyed being a character in their very own book.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK IS COMING --- January 25 through 30, Catholic Schools: A Faith-Filled Future.

On January 21, we are conducting our Kindergarten Round Up at 7:00 p.m. in the gym.  This is the time to discover information about St. John's Kindergarten.  You will have an opportunity to learn about the programs available to you as parents, and you will learn about St. John's Mission and Philosophy.

In addition, we are providing registration papers to all who attend.  You may take them home to fill out.  Please join us then on Sunday, January 25, at the 11:30 a.m. Mass followed by an Open House in the school from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Registration forms may be returned to the school office on this day, January 25, with the following items: birth certificate, baptismal certificate (unless baptized at St. John the Baptist), and  registration fee.

Come join us and see a JOY-filled school!
