Catholic Schools Week -January 26th through 31st 2003.   "Catholic Schools-Making a World of Difference"

We invite you to help us celebrate Catholic Schools Week with our opening liturgy on Sunday at 11:30 and come visit our school during Open House 12:30-1:30.

The schedule of events is as follows:
Sunday, January 26-  Making a World of Difference in our Parish 11:30  a.m. Mass; Open House 12:30-1:30
Monday, January 27- Making a World of Difference in our Community- For most students, their appreciation of "the world" begins with the neighborhood and the community of the school.  At SJB, students focus on service to local nursing homes. Students work with prayer partners on nursing home projects.
Tuesday, January 28- Making a World of Difference through our Teachers- Throughout the year, we rely heavily on teachers for their inspiration and organizational skills.  On this day, we will turn the tables on student s and allow them  to be instructors.  Students become teachers and present a short lesson.  Students take a questionnaire about teaching staff.
Wednesday, January 29- Making a World of Difference in our Nation-  This is the day to  remind us and others of our connection to the entire nation- to reinforce awareness that Catholic Schools "make a world of difference" in the development of good citizens.  3:00 p.m.- Assembly about  our flag, pledge and country.
Thursday, January 30- Making a World of Difference Through our Volunteers-  Volunteers are the backbone of mosst Catholic schools.  Some are visible every day on the play ground, in the cafeteria, or in the library.  Some contribute only at special times of the year, during festivals and fund raisers.  But it is certain that no school exists without the tireless dedication of volunteers.  Volunteer program at 10:00 a.m.
Friday, January 31- Making a World of Difference Through our Students-  Today is a day for a little levity, a day to loosen up.  Roller skating- Saints North; All school BINGO.

Stewardship
ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT MATERIALISM'S HOLD ON SOCIETY?
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

The Stewardship Committee is looking for people (couples most welcome) to facilitate a twelve-week study course to help people earn and spend their money in harmony with Christian values. The course does not promote additional giving to the Church, nor does it promote particular financial planning or investment services.  It is solely designed to bring one more aspect of a family's life into focus using Gospel teaching.
The total commitment will be approximately 60 hours over 12 months beginning in Spring, 2003.
No financial experience is necessary, only a willingness to work with other parishioners.
If you'd like more information, please call the Parish  Office, 651-633-8333.  Leave your name and number and a member of the Stewardship Committee will contact you.
