St. Vincent de Paul Society
There is a group of people that meet on the third Tuesday of the month.  You may have heard of them-they are known as the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Any one can belong-we welcome new members.  We are formed to help the poor!  In previous articles, we have told you  about some of our projects; food shelf collections, one on one interviews with people behind in their rent or utility bills, etc., clothing drives, winter coat collections, sock and blanket collections, projects at the homeless shelter.
Recently a group of people painted the gym floor at the Simpson House, where the homeless sleep on  mats on the floor.  It was transformed in one day from drab to cheerful.  We didn't think much about what we had done until 'Arlie', a 72 year old homeless man said, "Thank you.  You know this is my home and you've made it so much nicer."
Come join us- God needs your talents!

Social Justice

TAKE ACTION!  People of Faith are called to stand with the poor.  Send your senator and representative a postcard urging them not to cut the state budget in ways that will deprive the poor of their basic needs.  The JustFaith group will be available after Masses on March 22 and 23 to provide the postcards and assist with finding names and addresses for your legislators.
