School News…
Mark your calendar for an important evening on April 1st at 7:00 pm.  Mr. Corwin Kronenberg will be the guest speaker talking about how to teach children to be responsible.
     Friday, April 4, there is early dismissal at 12:25.  The PM Kindergarten class attends in the morning.  There are NO CLASSES for the AM Kindergarten class. 
     MAT 8 testing for Grade 1-7 on April 8, 9 and 10.  Please do not schedule appointments on these days. 
     Circle April 24 and 25 on your calendar.  Parent-teacher conferences are 8:00am-7:00pm on Thursday, April 24 and 8:00am-1:30pm on Friday, April 25.  Kindergarten conferences are also on Wednesday, April 23, 9:00am- 7:00pm.

ST. JOHN'S STUDENTS RECOGNIZED
AS COMMUNITY LEADERS 
Congratulations to Emily King and Jessica Meyer, students at St. John the Baptist School who have been named as  2003-2003 Student Leaders within our Catholic school community.  They are among a select group of Catholic middle school students nominated by school principals and classroom teachers for demonstrating strong leadership ability.  Criteria used in selecting the recipients of this award are: academic proficiency, community involvement, parish participation, and social leadership.  Emily and Jessica were honored with other student leaders on March 12 at a Leadership Banquet hosted by St. Bernard's in St. Paul

Youth Newz…
ODYSSEY-  Odyssey (Jr. High Faith Formation) will meet a April 2 at 5:00 and 6:30 pm.  JHL will also meet April 2 from 7:30-9:00.
ADULT VOLUNTEERS are needed to chaperone 7th and 8th graders at JHL (Jr. High Live) on Wednesdays, April 2, 9, and 23 from 7:30-9:00 pm.  Having at least three adult volunteers each week allows the jr. high participants more freedom to use the gym and the youth room.  Please call Kathy Udvig (763) 754-7666 to volunteer.

CONFIRMATION- The next confirmation session is this Sunday, March 30, 7:15-8:30.
JR. HIGH LOCKOUT AND MYSTERY TOUR  7th and 8th graders are invited to register for the jr. High lock out and Mystery tour on Friday, April 25th, 6:00pm -midnight.  The deadline to register is Tuesday , April 15th.  The cost is $18.00.  Details are included in the March issue of the  Youthletter.   Some things you might expect to do (remember it's all a mystery!):  Eat pizza, dance, roller skatem and much more...some parts might be at St. John's, some night not!  It's all part of the mystery!!  Registered participants should be at St. John's parish center between 5:45-6:00pm.  Participants should be picked up  between 12:00-12:15 am.  Youth may want to bring extra money for snacks or video games.  (Rollerblades optional.)  don't miss it!  Bring a friend!! Faith Formation…
ELEMENTARY FAITH FORMATION FAMILIES:  Classes resume on April 1/2.  Please make sure to sign up fin the classroom for the 15 minutes you need to help cover your child's Faith Formation Booth.  The Faith Formation Fair will take place on Wednesday, April 23rd from 5:00-7:30pm.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS:   Registration forms for next year's Faith Formation  classes will be mailed this week.  Please take the time to fill out the form and return it to Faith Formation by the first week in May.  This registration  includes Sunday School, Elementary Faith Formation, Junior High and Confirmation.  If you have questions or do not receive a form in the mail, please call the Faith Formation office at (651) 633-1540.  Thank You!

A "BIG THANK YOU" to all the students, parents and catechists that helped make the soup supper on March 21st.  Such a big success.  We collected $486.00 for the "Good News Project".  Special thanks to Pat Keyes and Jay Hunstiger for providing assistance.
