Boy Scout Troop 93 News
     A special thank you to all who attended our Pancake Breakfast.  It was a huge success.  Our troop operates under the leadership of our Scoutmaster Brad Gemlo.
     Congratulations to our two new Eagle Scouts Timothy Snadquist and Theodore Labuza and a special welciome to our newest troop members:  Anthony Bennek, Nolan Cleereman, David Falconer, Jeremy Huray, Lucas Labine, Trevor Malone, Michael Stampfle and Grant Weatherman.
     Our troop enjoys camping, working on rank advancement, religious awards, service projects and just having fun together.  Leadership opportunities are available through scouting at St. John the Baptist.  We are currently preparing for a special Religious Youth Ceremony to be held at. St. John the Baptist on April 27 at 2:30 pm.  Consider joining us.  Deacon Tom Quayle who recently received the National Honor of the St. George Emblem will be present.  Our big summer camping trip is being planned at Many Point scout Camp.  If you want to join Catholic scouting contact the Pastoral Center.

School News…
    On Thursday, May 1st you are invited to the May Crowning at 10:00 AM in the Church.
     Congratulations to all who will be receiving the Sacrament  of First Communion on May 3rd.
STATE SCIENCE FAIR   
     Four students for St. John the Baptist School competed in the State Science Fair competition held in Duluth, Minnesota, the weekend of April 11-13.  Eighth graders Andrew Schneider, David Ricke, Peter Labuza and 7th grader Katrina Krogh competed in this statewide competition.
     The St. John's students did very well.  David Ricke  won "Best in Category" for engineering, he won $75 and a plaque for first year excellence and a purple premium ribbon for  his project in aeronautical wing design.  Andrew Schneider won a Merit Ribbon and an Excellence in Math award for his project relating distance and angles.   Katrina Krogh won a Merit ribbon for her Pot in Pot container, Peter Labuza won a Merit Award in Poster contest and a Premium Award in oral presentation for his project on best container for storing cotton candy. 
     We are proud of these students for their hard work and their representation of St. John's School.
ST. JOHN'S ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Spring is a time to celebrate and what better way to do it than the annual St. John's Ice Cream Social.  Bring a friend and come join us for lots of food fun and excitement.  The kitchen will be busy preparing polish sausage, hot dogs, nachos and cheese dip, and of course, plenty of ice cream.  After you eat your snacks in the cafeteria, you can stroll on the cake walk, try your hand at the fish pond in the gym.  There is plenty of fun, food, prizes and mounds of ice cream!  See you there, Tuesday, May 6, 5:00-8:00 PM in the school.   Raffle takes place in the cafeteria.  Thanks.
    When you are spring cleaning, please check your book    shelves for stray books from our school library.  Please send the books to our library and no questions will be asked and no fines charged.  We are very interested in    getting the  books back
Youth Newz…
SPRING DANCE   All 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend the Spring Dance at St. John's on Wednesday, April 30 from 6:30-9:00 pm. Guests will be entertained by a DJ and sound and light show.  Snacks and pop will be available for sale. There is no charge for this event and all are welcome to invite their 7th and 8th grade friends!  Call Kate Roush (763) 754-7666 if you have questions.
ALL CURRENT 6-8TH GRADERS:    Check out the April Newzpaper for details about Camp TNT, an "explosive" summer camp experience.  TNT campers meet on Tuesdays, June 10-July 29 from 9:00-5:00.  A trip to Valleyfair on August 5th is also planned.  Participants meet in the morning for a spiritual reflection and then travel with an adult to one of a variety of service sites.   Participants enjoy a fun activity such as a visit to Camp Snoopy or a water park in the afternoon. Music Notes
     KINDERMUSIK  camp is coming to St. John's!  This one week music enrichment camp is open to all 4-7 year olds, and will be held the week of June 9-13th at St. John's.  There will be both a morning and afternoon session.  Flyers will be available in the Parish Office and in the Thursday Folder from school the week after Easter.  Enrollment is limited to 12 students per session.
