AUTUMN IN THE ST. CROIX VALLEY  Monday, October 6, take a nostalgic train trip from the historic 1916 Osceola Train Depot to Marine on the St. Croix.   Car attendants share history and information.  Great food will be enjoyed during a late lunch at the Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter Restaurant.  A stop at Pine Tree Apple Orchard allow for an opportunity to purchase a wide variety of mouth watering treats and gift items.

OPEN DOORS meets Tuesday, September 9, at 7:30 p.m.  Please bring your donations for the basket to the meeting and your willingness to help with posters for Fallfest - - we always have a treat for your sweet tooth. 

"STILLING THE WATERS USING YOUR FAITH"  On Saturday, September 13, the 27th Annual Fall Conference for the Separated and Divorced will be held here at St. John's. NEEDED:

  • Any one interested in doing Eucharistic ministry at St. John's Hospital every other Thursday. You would be sharing this ministry with another St. John's parishioner. Training/orientation is provided by the hospital. Call Anne Marie, 651-633-8333, ext. 1237.
  • A parishioner has expressed a need to have someone come to take her grocery shopping to Byerly's in Roseville with some regularity.  If you can help, call Anne Marie, 651-633-8333, ext 1237.
  • An Eucharistic Minister for Unity hospital, one Wednesday a month.  Call Anne Marie.
PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING  is again available to all St. John's parishioners on a no-fee basis; Tuesdays,   10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Call Teri, 651-633-8333, ext. 1210.

QUILTERS  The quilting group will resume their usual meetings on September 11, the second Thursday of the month, and September 26, the fourth Friday of the month. This is our regular meeting days.  We are happy to have new members--it is enjoyable and rewarding. 

Music Notes

EARTHEN VESSELS, our acoustic folk group, will start back with rehearsals TOMORROW night, September 8, at 7:15 p.m. in the St. Cecilia Choir Room. Earthen Vessels leads the Saturday 4:30 p.m. liturgy twice monthly, with       rehearsals the previous Monday. We welcome singers and instrumentalists of all kinds. SJB ADULT CHOIR has begun rehearsing, and will again sing for the 9:30 a.m. liturgies starting next week. If you can carry a tune, you are invited to join us as we grow in musicianship and camaraderie while creating musical prayer.  We will work with your busy schedule. Seasonal singers welcome! Council of Catholic Women

MEETINGS   Monthly membership meeting, September 15, 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Hall.

The first quarterly meeting of the St. Paul Deanery Council of Women will be held September 18 at St. Odilia's,  Shoreview. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m.; meeting at 9:00 a.m.  Program of the day will be a condensed leadership training presented by each of the six commissions.
