Out of the Mouth of Babes...

HOW TO COOK
A TURKEY:

"Just take a few pieces of broccoli and lettuce, and throw it in a pan and fry it up. Then throw in some brownies and pieces of chicken… and BOOM! Turkey!"

"First cook a turkey with pepper and salt on it in a flat pan for 51 hours. Then put inside of it eggs
(and I want it to be with broccoli on top). Honey inside. To make it beautiful, there's bones, and to make it even beautiful-er, put a cherry on top and flowers and a bow."

final call!

Changes for Eucharistic ministers, servers, and lectors for the next schedule are due immediately.

ST. JOHN'S FOOD SHELF: M-W-F, 10-12, St. Joseph Hall.

TODAY, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21, after the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Masses, we are asking all Families Moving Forward volunteers to come to a short, 15 - 20 minute training/orientation. We need to take a little time to prepare our volunteers for this experience and field any questions. Please take the time to come to this meeting in the southwest corner of St. Joseph's Hall. We really appreciate it!

ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28, our guests from Families Moving Forward will be coming to stay for the week.  Please respect their privacy on the 2nd floor; St. John's becomes their home for the week. Please keep these families, and all families who are currently without homes, in prayer  that they might be held safe and led to a place that will be home for them. Thank you to all who will be helping to make this week of hosting families a welcoming one!

NEEDED: We are in need of nursing home ministers for Presbyterian Homes on every Tuesday at 11:45 a.m., and we are in need of help at Benedictine Health Care at Innsbruck on the 1st Thursday of the month at 11:45 a.m. This ministry is very rewarding, asks for only one hour per month, and we are happy to work with you to get comfortable if this is a new experience for you.  Call Anne Marie if you can help, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU at this particular time of year who do so much for others by giving of yourselves and your time. May you feel the blessing of God for your goodness. Happy Thanksgiving to all…

A Little Help!

All the adult members of her family, married brothers and sisters, including her parents, had given Linda money to buy socks and underwear for the homeless.

When she stood in line at the check-out, her cart overflowing with the packages, she suddenly felt a tug on her sleeve, a small child was handing her money:
"My dad says you must have a very large family and probably need all the help you can get.  Merry Christmas!"

Next weekend is out last chance to collect socks and underwear for St. Stephen's, Simpson & the Women's Shelters.  Why not have your famy bring these items to Thanksgiving Dinner?  We do need all the help we can get! Merry Christmas, St. John's, and thank you.
