End of the Year Contributions
The IRS requires donors
to transfer gifts to churches on or before December 31 to
receive credit for 2004. Donors must physically deliver checks
or items to church on or before December 31, or if it is
mailed, it absolutely must have a postmark of December 31 or earlier.
If the donated property is publicly traded stock, donors must instruct a broker to transfer shares to church, and the shares must be received in the church's account on or before December 31. If the donor has a stock certificate, the donor must deliver the stock certificate endorsed to the church before the December 31 deadline to receive a 2004 tax deduction.
If donors request that checks not be deposited until after January 1, then the checks are in a "not been delivered" status, and donors cannot take a 2004 tax deduction.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK is January 23 - 28, 2005; theme is "Faith in Every Student."
ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 19, we have a Kindergarten Round Up at 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hall. We will make a full day kindergarten program available to 24 families. We will continue to offer a half-day program; there will be an AM and a PM program with 14 students in each class. See the flyer in the kiosk; call Sue Clausen, (651) 633-1522, ext. 1117.
YOU WILL HAVE an opportunity to learn about our programs, see slides showing the Kindergarten class in action, and learn about St. John's Mission & Philosophy.
IN ADDITION, we are providing registration papers to all who attend; you may take them home to fill out. Please join us on Sunday, January 23, at the 11:00 a.m. Mass, followed by Open House in the school until 1:00 p.m. Return registration forms to the School Office on this day, January 23.
PLEASE BRING COPIES OF THE FOLLOWING with the registration forms: (1) Birth Certificate; (2) Baptismal Certificate, unless baptized at St. John the Baptist Parish; (3) $300 to be paid at the time of registration. No student is considered registered unless this fee accompanies the registration form (When accepted, $200 of this fee will be applied to the first month's tuition payment.). Thank you!

TODAY! December 19 - Lorie Line Concert - If you ordered tickets for the concert and wish to carpool, we'll depart St. John's parking lot at 2:00 PM for the State Theatre; concert begins at 3:00 PM. Tickets will be handed out when we meet to carpool. If you're not carpooling, call Linda at (651) 636-6713 to arrange to get your ticket. Dinner afterwards for those interested.
