When a pastor is away on medical leave as is Father Bill Murtaugh, it is the practice of the Archdiocese to appoint an Interim Parish Life Administrator (IPLA) whose function it is to be present to the parish and staff, to represent the Archdiocese, to facilitate the continuance of parish life, and to change as little as possible. Given that Father Bill's absence from the parish may be for a fairly standard "100 days," Archbishop Flynn has appointed me as IPLA for St. John the Baptist. As such, I will work closely with Father Tom Kunnel, parish administrator Bob Mike, and your wonderful staff to ensure continuity of the mission of the parish and to deal with any issues that might arise. I will do so in conjunction with our regular advisory groups: the parish pastoral council, school board, and finance committee. In addition, I will consult with our parish trustees. Regular and ongoing sacramental and pastoral care will continue with minimal interruption. I will assist Father Tom and your capable and dedicated staff in any way that I can by serving as liaison with parishioners and appropriate archdiocesan offices. While we will continue to note the absence of Father Bill, the work and mission of the parish will continue as it should through your faithful participation in parish life and ministry. Meanwhile, if you have any concerns, problems, or issues that, in your opinion, I should deal with before Father Bill's return, please contact me directly. As the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ continues in our lives, may each of us respond as best we can to His call as disciples. Please continue your prayers on behalf of Father Bill and all of the members of this energetic and vibrant community of faith. The Peace of Christ be with each of you+++
Deacon Peter D'Heilly

Annual SJB Turkey Dinner Sunday, November 6!
It will be an old fashioned turkey dinner so bring your family and friends to enjoy a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. This year we will again have an Auntie's Attic. Please bring those gently used articles no longer in use, but too good to throw away. Take them to the coat closet in St. Paul Plaza. Anything that is sellable is most welcome, but no baked goods this year at Auntie's Attic! Call Bernice if you have any Auntie's Attic questions, (763) 784-7889. There will also be crafts of all kinds by local artists. Finally, please dig out your favorite apple or pumpkin pie recipe because we depend on your homemade pies for dessert, and please consider a generous donation to help defray the cost. Sign up for your favorite work shift or make a donation by calling Loretta at (651) 633-2857. WORKERS NEEDED!
