AT THE 4:30 P.M. MASS on Saturday, December 10, students of San Miguel Middle School performed a skit about Our Lady of Guadalupe (Virgin Mary).  Her feast day is Monday, December 12, and it commemorates the day in 1531 when Mary appeared in Mexico to Juan Diego. She left a picture of herself on his cloak, and in this image she is an Indian, like Juan Diego, and she shines with the light of the sun, moon, and stars (Revelation 12:1). Mary is wrapped in a cinto, the sash that was worn by pregnant women, because Our Lady of Guadalupe is pregnant with Jesus! After Mass, the students handed out bookmarks to the parishioners, and cake was served.
