ALSO NEEDED:  We need two nursing home ministers for Trevilla for the 2nd Thursday of the month. Please call Anne Marie if you are interested, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237. This is a very blessed ministry in which to be involved!

THE BEFRIENDERS will meet on Wednesday, September 7, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  in Room 210.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES offers counseling services for couples communication, anger regulation, and men's therapy beginning in September. For more information, please call Kelly Helland at (651) 215-2209.

IN THE COMING MONTHS, we will invite all parishioners to become involved in a new ministry that is specifically engaged in the Social Mission of the Church.  Please pray for guidance for yourself and the parish as we look to this new work. Everything we do in regard to Social Mission has its roots in Catholic Social Teaching which many of us have either forgotten over the years or we don't remember learning at all. You will see them printed time and again around St. John's. We want them to become as familiar to you as the Ten Commandments; they are every bit as vital to our lives as Catholic Christians:

  • The life and dignity of the human person
  • Human rights and responsibilities
  • The call to community
  • The option for the poor
  • The dignity of work and the rights of workers
  • Solidarity
  • Care for God's creation

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: "How do you really feel about our brothers and sisters who are poor and who need to ask us for our help?  How do you really feel?"

...trip to the Plymouth Playhouse to see "Church Basement Ladies" on Thursday, October 13. The cost is $35.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members; lunch included.  Bus leaves St. John's at 11:00 a.m. and returns at 4:00 p.m. Registration forms are in The Plaza kiosks, and the deadline for registration is Friday, September 9!
