THE GROWING THROUGH LOSS SERIES begins Tuesday, September 13, with Grief: A Response to Loss.  Grief is experienced physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Your experiences with loss are both unique and common.  This session helps define grief and guides you on your journey through it.  Speaker is Judy Young, grief counselor with Allina Hospice.  The program is from 6:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Drive, Mounds View. Small support groups follow the speaker, and registration is taken at each session.  Childcare is available free of charge.  For details, call Sue Amos Palmer, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1210.

NEEDED: Two nursing home ministers for Trevilla for the 2nd Thursday of the month. The service is at 7:15 p.m., and we need two people who are willing to lead the Word/Communion Service. Training provided; call Anne Marie if you are interested, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237. This is a very blessed ministry in which to be involved.

THE SOCIAL MISSION ministries at St. John's will be changing and growing in the coming months. You, the parishioners, will have many opportunities to be a part of  this, and we are really excited about moving forward in our response to the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church. Please pray for the parish and for openness in hearts and minds to where this might lead us. A group of parishioners who make up the Social Mission Advisory Board have been working on this and have done incredible research for us. As the days unfold, we want to be a parish that has really given our best work in responding to the needs in our world. We are a blessed people...
