"A Community called and formed by the Gospel."

THANK YOU!

Wow! Booya was very successful this year. What a wonderful 75th birthday celebration. We had 900 guests join us for dinner, and many purchased Booya to take home. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Whether you prepared the food, cleaned Booya kettles, set up the dining room, or served our dinner guests, you helped to keep the tradition going.

Thank you to our family and friends who helped cook 540 gallons of Booya, especially Tony & Kathy Bona and our sons Craig and Cory. Thanks to the strong arms that came for a few hours to help with lifting and stirring.

Thank you to Father Skluzacek and Father Magnuson who came at 11 p.m. Saturday night to pray with us for a successful Booya. They lit the fires, and Father Magnuson  joined us on Sunday to sell take-out Booya.

Thank you to St. John's staff for all the support, and to the Fall Festival Committee for their wonderful cooperation - we always work so well together! Thank you to all who made a financial donation; your generosity is appreciated.

A very special thank you to Pat Berczyk and Connie Lyke who called all the volunteers. On Sunday, Pat ran the dining room and Connie ran the kitchen. We appreciate all the hours that you work every year.

With Sincere Thanks,

Ron & Marianne Flor

"IT'S TIME TO ACT LIKE REAL MEN!"

Do you wonder what is happening to the moral core of our society? Are you concerned that society is moving in directions that are contrary to the Christian principals that God has given us? Do you have concerns for your children's future in a society based on secular rather than Christian principals? SJB Men's Fellowship will begin a study of the book, Total Truth, by Nancy Pearcey. Consider joining us every Thursday, beginning on October 12, at 6:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Hall for food for the masculine soul! Questions? Call Dave Tucci at (612) 616-4013.

INSTALLATION MASS
FOR FATHER SKLUZÁCEK

Archbishop Harry J. Flynn will celebrate Mass at St. John's at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, and formally install Father Skluzacek as St. John's pastor.

A reception in St. Joseph Hall will immediately follow the Mass. Everything should wrap up by 6:30 p.m.

Please bring your family to mark this special event as Father Skluzacek officially becomes St. John's 13th pastor.

CUB SCOUT POPCORN SALE NEXT WEEKEND, OCTOBER 14/15

St. John's Cub Scout Pack 93 is selling popcorn next weekend after all Masses. On average, 70% of the proceeds goes to scouting. Our Cub Scout Pack receives 35% of the revenue, which we use for activities like camping, Blue and Gold Banquets, and Scout Awards. We are proud of the products we sell, including a variety of microwave popcorn, caramel corn, chocolate popcorn, and cheese popcorn! Thank you for supporting our program.
