Pastoral Ministry News

TODAY, at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, we will bless the Healing Quilts made by our parish quilters. After Mass, come to The Plaza, offer a prayer, and tie a knot in a quilt.

ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, at 1:00 p.m., we will have a Healing Mass for anyone in need of healing and hope. Our priests will anoint you, and we will have hospitality afterwards. The Mass is in the Chapel.

WE NEED SOME HELP in the Nursing Home Ministry at Alterra. On the 2nd Friday of the month, at 10:00 a.m., one of our parishioners leads a Word/Communion Service. We could use another person to help from time to time. Alterra is a home for those living with Alzheimer's.  If interested, call Anne Marie, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.

WOULD YOU LIKE to participate in conversations with candidates running for state office about values that will transform the dominant culture of isolation, despair, fear, and scarcity, and replace it with a vision of community, hope, justice, and shared abundance for all God's people?  Then plan on attending ISAIAH's Faith in Democracy: Renewing the Promise gathering here at  St. John's on Sunday October 15,  2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. We will imagine new possibilities and explore how we can partner together to realize the options. At least 20 candidates will be coming. Let's fill the hall with faithful citizens!

A BIG THANK YOU to Cary Becker, Carole Beggs, Sharon Hansen, and Katie Stennes for organizing the wonderful weekend highlighting Food for the Poor and our  sister relationship with the people of Bull Bay, Jamaica.  The parish response was overwhelming. We hope each year to have a group of pilgrims from St. John's to meet the folks and see the life Fr. Paul explained to us. Please keep them and this ministry in your prayers.

WE ARE SERVING Feed My Starving Children on Friday, October 27, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. To help: (763) 572-8430.
