Pastoral Ministry News

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in becoming a Word/Communion prayer leader, even if you are currently in nursing home ministry, call Anne Marie. I would like to have a training session, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.

WE ARE CURRENTLY working on getting more involved in our Prayer Line Ministry. Watch for more information, and pray if this is a ministry for you to join. This parish relies on prayer, and this is another way to be involved. You can do it from home and spend time in prayer for others. There is such comfort in knowing others are holding you in prayer.

SOME OF OUR PRAYER QUILTS have been presented to family members and friends. If you would like a prayer quilt, call Anne Marie, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237. They have been made with loving hands, blessed, and tied by our community of faith.

Social Mission News

SOCIAL MISSION ADVISORY BOARD meets on Thursday, November 16, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 204. We are looking for more members. If interested, call Anne Marie at (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.

I RECEIVED A CALL from a parishioner who, along with several colleagues, offered to go to Jamaica and build the school our sister parish needs. I want to acknowledge this offer by Peter Murlowski and colleagues.  But, Food for the Poor doesn't work this way, so the offer was declined. Building projects are handled by the local folks because it brings them employment. Nonetheless, this offer is another sign of your goodness. Blessings.

PEACE COFFEE, Equal Exchange Tea, and CRS's Divine Chocolate (including Advent Calendars) are available in St. Paul Plaza after all Masses today. The choices we make about what we consume in the United States impact the lives of people around the world. As Catholics, we are called to ask three questions about our economic activities:  What does the economy do for people? What does it do to people? How do people participate in it? Fair Trade answers these questions and honors core principles of Catholic Social Teaching on economic justice.

NEXT WEEK: Resources to find out how we can be better stewards of our earth...
