Pastoral Ministry News
BEFRIENDER meeting on Wednesday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m., and New Befriender Training on Tuesday, November 28, at 6:00 p.m.

IN DECEMBER, our priests will be anointing all the Catholics in the nursing homes where we serve. Thanks for the blessing of our priests, the nursing home ministers who serve, and this sacrament of healing and love. We keep an entry of all who have been anointed in our church record book.

WE COULD USE some nursing home help for the 5th Thursday of the month at Trevilla. This Word/Communion Service is at 2:15 p.m., and the 5th Thursday happens just a few times annually. Training provided.

Social Mission News
FAMILIES MOVING FORWARD guests are arriving today, and they will be with us each night until next Sunday. The 2nd floor becomes their bedrooms and living rooms each evening. Please respect their privacy, as you always do, and keep the 2nd floor clear of traffic. Thanks to all who have signed up to make this week run smoothly. Your prayers for the families are appreciated.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, the Visitation Sisters, who live in North Minneapolis, will come to share an Advent morning of reflection. Invitations have gone out to those   involved in the work of charity and justice. Please know that anyone is welcome to join us. A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP to (651) 633-2211, ext. 1284. This retreat promises to a lovely time for all of us.

PLEASE CONSIDER becoming involved in our social mission work. The Office for Social Justice has action teams working on healthcare, immigration, and global warming. If you would like to learn more, call Anne Marie, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.  You would work with folks from other parishes, deal with legislative issues, and see firsthand how people of faith can make an impact on key issues that affect the common good.

LOOK AT our bulletin board for the certificate from Loaves & Fishes. St. John's served 59,400 meals to those who are hungry in the Twin Cities! Thanks to all who are members of this social mission ministry.
