Pastoral Ministry News

  • PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING is once again available to St. John's adult parishioners on a no-cost basis on Tuesdays, between 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. For an appointment, call Teri  at (651) 633-8333, ext. 1210.
  • If you are interested in learning about the Befriender Ministry, or would like to be a part of training this fall, call Anne Marie or Judy and we will be happy to let you in on the good news, (651) 633-8333.

Social Mission News

  • SJB FOODSHELF: M-W-F, 10-12, St. Joseph Hall.

  • Peace Coffee, a Fair Trade Coffee, is being sold after all Masses this weekend. Look for the Peace Coffee table in front of St. Joseph Hall. This coffee is purchased directly from small farmer cooperatives at prices that ensure a just income for coffee growers.
  • On September 23/24, Food for the Poor leadership, Fr. Paul and Fr. Gene, will be with us as we learn about our sister parish in Bull Bay, Jamaica, and share ourselves with them. They have very physical needs and  our help is needed, but equally as important are the other ways we can be involved. Perhaps a prayer ministry or a pilgrimage once a year to meet our new friends and see for ourselves how life is for them. Someday, in our "biggest" dreams, maybe some of them could come here and spend time with us. Please pray as these plans are made, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us. The planning committee is Katie Stennes, Carole Beggs, Cary Becker, and Sharon Hansen. If you or one of your ministries want to help on September 23/24, please call Anne Marie at the Parish Office, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.
  • In October, St. John's will host a gathering with ISAIAH and the churches in our NE Caucus. Our state representatives are invited to talk. As people of faith, we need to do our homework about where we stand and what we want our governing bodies to support. This is a right and a responsibility and one way that we can respond to the Gospel.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: "A random act of kindness can make all the difference in someone's day. Don't tell a soul what you did...."

Peter Laird, Vice Rector and Director of Seminarians at the St. Paul Seminary, will speak at all Masses on July 29/30 about Eucharistic adoration and the blessings it brings personally and to the parish. You will be invited to sign-up to spend one hour a week with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. God bless.
