  • If you are interested in learning about the Befriender Ministry, or would like to be a part of training this fall, call Anne Marie or Judy and we will be happy to let you in on the good news, (651) 633-8333.
  • We serve at Alterra, a residence for folks living with Alzheimer's. Once a month, we share a Word/Communion Service. It's always the 2nd Friday at 10:00 a.m. If you are willing to offer yourself to this ministry, call Anne Marie and you can shadow with a   current volunteer, (651) 633-8333, ext. 1237.

Social Mission News

  • SJB FOODSHELF: M-W-F, 10-12, St. Joseph Hall.
  • Please read your Forerunner for more information on our sister parish in Bull Bay, Jamaica. This month and next, Katie Stennes, who traveled there with other St. John's parishioners, will be sharing details about this new mission for our parish.
  • There is an ISAIAH caucus meeting on Thursday, August 3. If you would like to know more about ISAIAH, call Jeanne Ayers at (651) 639-9519. Our St. John's core group is growing, and there are about 12 active core groups with ISAIAH. As we look to an election year, ISAIAH will provide opportunities to gather as faith communities from around our area to work together on supporting principles that are in harmony with our faith values. There will be opportunities to  speak to our legislators and representatives to ask them to make decisions that support our belief in justice for all. The Forerunner will highlight this as well. Please take the time to inform yourself and read about current issues. The Peace Coffee table always has information about current social issues that speak to our Catholic Social Teaching.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:

"No matter how complicated the loss, healing is a choice; healing is your right. Healing is your responsibility."
